So, this hot dry weather continues here in the UK....literally no rain since May! Here in Devon we are generally blessed with slightly warmer temperatures than the rest of the country. Don't get me wrong, its nice to have a year where the weather is appropriate to the month....it wasn't that long since we were all shivering & getting around in the snow. I shouldn't moan but my poor lawn is now the colour of my Border Terrier & frankly just as scruffy! Let me show you.........

Introducing this grand old lady, Izzy is 12 years old now & pretty lazy by default...she only moves with any speed if a pigeon lands on the grass. They better watch out because quite honestly they are standing out big time on the shrivelled brown once green background! She delights in "seeing them off her land"
I've been hand stripping her on & off over the weekend & its only my 2nd attempt so its just a bit at a time as she really isn't keen on my new found skills....she didn't much like being clipped either. I know that clipping with electric shears is not especially good for their coats so I watched lots of YouTube videos for tips...yes I know I've taken way too long to do it but her coat is already a lot nicer. To be fair, she will tolerate me pulling hair from her top half (as you can see)...its her legs, belly & bum she objects too. I must invest in a table...I too object to all the bending over too reach her as she generally lies down as soon as I get near her #olddognewtricks
She is a lovely old girl though & I hate to harass her so if she stays part stripped then thats how we will roll. I think she probably loves her frilly fuzzy butt & would very much prefer to hang onto them thank you very much (sorry love, it will feel nicer in the long run)
Things are a bit quite her at Craft Hill Artisans on the whole.....I guess the "J" months see folks doing things away from their gadgets & the internet where they might make purchases. They spend their time doing things with their families which is fair enough. I hear its common for crafters to hit this summertime lull. It gives me time to work on my Etsy store & to introduce new lines like these gorgeous Tissue Holders. They hold one of those travel packs of paper tissues nicely.I've made a variety of them & they are flying out. It's so much nicer to pull a pretty pouch out of your handbag rather than the plastic wrapper don't you agree. I seem to have hay fever pretty badly this year & I'm putting it down to the fact that I'm working from home now....therefore in more contact with my garden, the trees in the nearby nature reserve & yes! that blasted brown grass lawn. My tissue consumption has soared & I'm considering making up some nice soft fabric hankies to put in my own pouch as that would be far kinder to the planet & my nose I suspect.
My other main focus at the moment is my new #crafthillartisans brand representative Gemma...well actually its Gemma & her soon to arrive baby girl Evelyn. Im so delighted to have her on board as to be fair most of my lines are aimed at babies & mummies. She will be such an asset & I know she will help me not only with fabulous coverage but also with working on design tweaks. Check out the babies nursery decor....gorgeous isn't it?

Wow! as soon as I saw the colours it sparked off soooooo many ideas...I can't wait to get started on some goodies for Evelyn or Evie as she will be known . Now....isn't Evelyn a lovely name? I especially like names that begin with E, my own "Sunday" name being Elizabeth so I'm a tad biased lol. But I do really like to hear the old traditional names are still in use, my own granddaughter is a Rose....such a lovely sounding name.
Anyway....my new little #brandrep will be modelling & demonstrating my wares. I don't expect her mummy to show the babies face....but I'm such a dinosaur that I just don't have good ways to show my pieces off. How much nicer will one of my custom made personalised baby quilts look in an actual cot for instance. Im not gonna lie....I'm SUPER excited! She is due in 4 weeks so hopefully I can show you some nicely shot in situ pics before long. I know her Mummy is hot on detail....you can tell that from the nursery. Exciting times ahead.
One more lovely thing id like to show you is this awesome picture that a lovely fan of CraftHillArtisans made up for me.....it shows several of my cute soft toys & a quilt in the background....it made me a bit leaky eyed when she sent it to me tbh.....people are so kind & supportive of my crafts.

If you would like to see the Fox, Lion, Alpaca, Unicorns or indeed quilts then have a browse around my Etsy store...id be delighted to create you something squishy & cute.
Stay cool folks..........
Much Love Lizzy x
